Timothy Walter "Tim" Burton was born on August 25, 1958. Tim Burton is an American film director, film producer, writer and artist. He is famous for dark, quirky-themed movies such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and for blockbusters such as Pee-wee's Big Adventure, Batman, Batman Returns, Planet of the Apes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and ALice in Wonderland, his most recent film, that was the second highest-grossing film of 2010 and as well as the sixth highest-grossing film of all time. Among Burton's many collaborators are Johnny Depp, who became a close friend since their film together, musician Danny Elfman (who has composed for all but five of the films Burton has directed and/or produced) and domestic partner Helena Bonham Carter. He also wrote and illustrated the poetry book The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories, published in 1997, and a compilation of his drawings, entitled The Art of Tim Burton, was released in 2009." You know, from looking at Tim Burton's and Helena Bonham Carter's work as artists, they really seem to be the perfect match. Both of them share a passion for art. Their art forms are both dark, gory and raw, shown from his artwork and from her roles in movies

(and her fashion sense).

I love Tim Burton's artistic vision and his artwork. He is so original in his expressions which could possibly provide an explanation for why the work is so dark. I respect him as an artist and director because his work is so personal and authentic. He has a unique style that I find so interesting. Similar to his partner Helena Bonhman Carter, Burton's work is gloomy and gory, shown by the skeletons and the dark imagery in his movies.
