Oprah Finale

The Oprah Show Finale

The last Oprah show aired today. No more Oprah Show (until her own show on OWN, but won't be the same regardless). Can you believe it? 25 years of the entertainment queen ruling the talk show host ended today. The finale of Oprah brought in a rating of 13.3 and the most viewers in the last 17 years. The show wasn't over the top or full of notable guests as I expected it to be. In fact, the show was about Oprah's 25 year journey. It wasn't as sad as I expected. It was a good finale because it was just Oprah on the stage with her audience and the viewers, those who are responsible for where Oprah she currently stands, as an entertainment mogul and who runs a billion dollar empire. And it's all in the name: Oprah.

We will all miss O, but I am much more excited to see what the future of Oprah is. With her new network OWN, her success should continue to grow. Although the ratings of the network have been O-so-suprising, they will most likely rise when Oprah starts her next TV show. In reality, the end of The Oprah Show is not such a big deal after all. She has bigger and better plans. We will miss the show, but what is there to be sad about? Instead of seeing her on channel 7, we will see her on her OWN network.
Now let's move on to my favorite talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres.
