Very nice but a little bit too simple.

Beautiful look! |
I love the collection. The 2012 Spring Summer Salvatore Ferragamo Collection looks great overall. However, I think that the collection is lacking some originality or complexity. With my state of mind that Mensware is the underdog in the Fashion World, it needs to be big and bold. I understand that there are more limitations when designing Mens clothing, but that doesn't mean creativity and imagination should be limited. In fashion, simplicity isn't better. Of course the collection looks great, but it is too safe. Take risks! Come on Giornetti, let it go. I truly love the collection, and would certainly love to wear any of the outfits, but I want something more, bold. As a creative person myself, I want more when it comes to Mensware. Each collection released by a brand is a statement. They are saying, "This is my line, and this is who I am. This is what I got." Unfortunately, with this collection, I did not feel any of that. I expected more. I loved the blazers, the colors, the white pants, the hair and the bags, but the shoes, the accessories and the tops could have been a bit more exciting. Don't get me wrong, I love Ferragamo. I'm wearing my favorite belt (my Ferragamo belt) right now. I just wanted more than just a bunch of plain collections. The collection is without a doubt beautiful and elegant, I just was hoping for more of a Spring Summer, fun and exciting feel. Maybe next year. Here is what my best friend Style has to say:
Giornetti took the idea of Picasso in his studio in the south of France as his starting point, explaining that he wanted to convey a sense of joy and light, and he followed through on the idea. Models paraded by in a series of utilitarian but sophisticated belted jackets and seriously wide-legged pants. Those jackets should fit fairly comfortably into the wardrobes of today's Riviera habitués.
The pants could be a tougher sell, as Giornetti freely admitted backstage. The point is that he wasn't afraid to make a statement with them on the runway. What's more, he didn't overplay his hand. Tying things together was a persuasive palette of navy, khaki, and jade green, as well as a smart espadrille-lace-up hybrid.
I agree with everything except that I disagree with the "He wasn't afraid to make a statement". Perhaps a statement was made. Maybe I just missed it.
