ROBERTO CAVALLI

Roberto Cavalli was born on November 15,1940, and is an Italian fashion designer from Florence.He was born in Florence, Tuscany. His grandfather, Giuseppe Rossi, was a member of the Macchiaioli Movement, whose work is exhibited in the Uffizi Gallery. Cavalli decided to enroll at the local Art Institute, concentrating in textile print. While still a student, he made a series of flower prints on knit that caught the attention of major Italian hosiery factories.
In the early 1970s, he invented and patented a revolutionary printing procedure on leather, and he started creating patchworks of different materials. He debuted these techniques in Paris, immediately getting commissions from the likes of Hermès and Pierre Cardin. (Amazing!!) At age 30, he presented his first namesake collection at the Salon for Prêt-à-Porter in Paris. He brought it to the catwalks of the Sala Bianca of Palazzo Pitti in Florence, and later on those of Milano Collezioni jeans made of printed denim, intarsia leathers, brocade and wild prints. He then opened his first boutique in 1972 in Saint-Tropez.
In 1980 Roberto Cavalli married Eva Düringer, who has been his lifelong companion and business partner. In Milan in 1994 Cavalli presented the first sand-blasted jeans. By December of the same year, he had opened boutiques in Saint Barth, in the French Caribbean, followed by others in Venice and Saint-Tropez. Besides the main line, which is sold in over fifty countries worldwide, Roberto Cavalli designs RC Menswear as well as the youth aimed line Just Cavalli, launched in 1998 and comprising today men’s wear, women’s wear and accessories, eyewear, watches, perfumes, underwear and beachwear. There is also the Angels & Devils Children Collection, the Class line, two underwear collections, shoes, eyewear, watches and perfumes. In 2002 Cavalli opened his first café-store in Florence, revamping it with his signature animal prints. This was shortly followed by the opening in Milan of the Just Cavalli café at Torre Branca and another boutique on Via della Spiga.
It was reported in April 2008 that Cavalli had put his business up for sale. Roberto Cavalli was a judge at the Miss Universe 1977 pageant where his future wife ( Eva Duringer) was a contestant. He did not pick her to win. She was first runner-up. The girl that won was the first Black Miss Universe. In July 2011 his company collection was presented at the catwalk of The Brandery fashion show in Barcelona.

I love Cavalli! It is really amazing how he revolutionized the way textiles could be produced. He did this, and was liked by Hermes and Pierre Cardin, all under the age of 30! Incredible.

But, suprise, suprise, I am changing things up this time. I will have two sections: Mensware and Womensware.
With this being said, I will cover the womensware first. I will cover the couture, the hairstyling, shoes, makeup, and all the details in the blog. So, read on! I'm having so much fun writing this, and I haven't even posted any pictures yet! X

3 Beautiful Women!

AH!! There (above) is the Spring Summer 2011 Roberto Cavalli Collection. I was speechless the first time I saw it. It is so so beautiful! The beautiful dark and nuetral colors, the confident demeanour from the model, and the flowy, complimenting cuts of the fabric. The collection is gorgeous. The collection is, Miss Little Bohemia meets Pirates of the Caribbean. The collection is so fit for.. Gemma Ward.

 My only critique is that the collection doesn't have a very Summer-y feel. I was not expecting for the collection to be bursting with brights (Versace), but I did expect a little bit more of a wide color range. Regardless, I love it. The color palette is so beautiful. One word for the collection: TASSELS

              Nearly every look had tassels, draping or loose, flowy materials. Following the trends. Moving on!

FALL WINTER 2011 COLLECTION

 

(Jaw wide open) There it is. The 2011 Fall Winter Collection from Roberto Cavalli. Isn't is just marvelous? The outfits just look so polished and perfected. I finally realized who would look perfect wearing each of these outfits. Mila Kunis and Rachel Bilson!! I know, I nailed it.
 
Continuing on with the looks, let's move on to the Mensware. I hope my male fashion sexuals are smiling.

Beautiful Look! I love the color combination and the hair. 

The seventies has exerted such a potent influence on women's fashion these past few seasons that perhaps it was inevitable that it would make its presence known in men's. It certainly did tonight at Roberto Cavalli (who, to give the man his due, has been in the fashion game before, during, and after the seventies). The theme and title of his show was Groovy Mood.
Want to feel groovy alla Cavalli? Slip on one of the slightly shimmery three-piece suits that were the collection's major statement in coppery rust, camel, gray, and icy blue. The jackets were ultra-fitted, cut close to the shoulder, and paired with waistcoats like breastplates—"like armors," Cavalli said approvingly before the show. The pants were slightly flared, and they were shown with silk shirts and accessorized to the hilt with foulards, necklaces, or feathers and pointy, Spanish-heeled boots.
"Groovy is a lifestyle," Cavalli proclaimed. Could be. Entrée into the designer's own ultra-fabulous world has always been the biggest selling point of his often over-the-top allure. But apart from a few key outerwear pieces—some decade-appropriate shearlings, and a few lavishly lapelled coats—translating his vision of the season off the runway won't be the easiest feat. As shown here, it felt like an all-or-nothing proposition—not least when, for the finale, the strutters all donned what can only be called pimp hats. Groovester, fall back!

My favorite Formal outfit!

The 2012 Spring Summer Collection 

is fearlessly designed, proving that men can also make a statement with their style. My good friend, Elle.com has a bit to say about it.

"The Cavalli man will never be a shrinking violet, and to prove it, he prefers his violet suede blouson with full python trim. The house's assertive suits, with their strong shoulders, nipped waists, and generous, even spendthrift lapels, come in purple, yellow, and fuchsia. Still, it isn't hard to imagine Daniele and his friends wearing some of these pieces on their own Mediterranean jaunts. In previous collections, that wasn't always the case with his father, who several years ago settled into a personal uniform of black blazer and boot-cut jeans.
Stripes were used to interesting effect here, sometimes boldly as in multicolored pants, but also in a more nuanced way as in the textured tone-on-tone pattern on a cobalt blue blazer. The matching shirt the latter was paired with had a lizard motif, but one subtle enough to go unnoticed until Daniele pointed it out. That was new. (As The New York Times' Guy Trebay noted last season, the participation of the respected stylist Robert Rabensteiner may account for some of this new feeling, too.)"

BEAUTIFUL. I love the advertisements so much! They are so great and are effective in correctly portraying the Roberto Cavalli brand. Having Gisele Bundchen and Kate Moss (two top favorite models) model for your ads don't help either. Very sexy, exciting, fun and young. Awesome. 

The Eyewear

Doutzen Kroes is simply the most beautiful women in the world. She is my favorite Victoria Secret angel and shares the #1 spot with Gisele and Kate Moss for My Favorite Models. I didn't just include her pictures to share her beauty. I posted these pictures because she is wearing Cavalli! Perhaps her beauty had something to do with it..

 Summary:
Roberto Cavalli has become one of my favorite Italian designers. Roberto Cavalli designs are the reason why Italian Fashion could be my favorite. It is currently, and will always be tied with French. I'm stuck in between the two. Well, to put it down into words, I love Cavalli.
Roberto Cavalli reminds me of how amazing the world I live in really is. The world of Fashion. The world of Fashion is truly remarkable, and I am diving deep into it. One fabulous designer at a time.
I really enjoyed writing this entry. I hope you enjoyed it as well. Roberto Cavalli should never be forgotten or underestimated. The designs are pure genius. They are so beautiful. You know. Italian Fashion!
